MY PRIORITIES

IMPROVING ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE

I will work with the healthcare providers in this district to create the highest level of care.

Bringing Planned Parenthood back, working toward increasing Medicaid reimbursement rates, and ensuring adequate transportation to access health care are achievable goals I intend to meet.

IMPROVING PUBLIC SAFETY

Although bail reform was intended to help, amendments need to be made so that judges can use their sound professional discretion to keep the people of New York State safe.

I am committed to a fair system that works better for all and restores balance in our approach to criminal justice.

The lives of law enforcement officers must be better protected.

ADDRESSING THE ADDICTION CRISIS

We have all been touched by addiction.

Treating and addressing the root causes are the first steps to healing. Services must be available to individuals and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and close to home.

Hope Not Handcuffs, Catholic Charities, Garnet Healthcare System, and our other care providers, along with law enforcement and County Government, can create the safe spaces we need.

Only a member from the majority party will be able to make the changes we need in Albany to promote legislation and bring back the funding we need to solve this issue in both Sullivan and Orange Counties.

PROTECTING a WOMaN’S RIGHT TO CHOOSE

I’ll work to ensure that strong safeguards remain in place to protect women’s rights to control their bodies.

I am honored to be endorsed by Eleanor’s Legacy, an organization that works to elect pro-choice Democratic women across New York because when women run, we all win.

SUPPORTING EDUCATION & childcare

Our children and schools are still recovering from the pandemic and need more resources than ever before.

Children deserve to be properly prepared with life skills, critical thinking, and career education for vocations and professions.

I’ll make sure our education systems continue to be the backbone of our community.

There should never be a time when schools need to worry about funding or cuts to programs and services.

Our families also need reliable childcare, which will give parents the freedom to go back to work and give our children a jump start on their futures.

AIDING OUR FIRST RESPONDERS

Volunteer firefighters and EMS workers are the frontline in times of crisis. No matter the situation, we can count on them for their lifesaving response.

I will bring back grants and funding to ensure that their needs are met and support incentives to recruit and train the next generation. Thank you for your service.

CREATING REASONABLY PRICED HOUSING

Reasonably priced, sensibly located, quality housing with updated infrastructure is a priority.

I will work with municipalities to create programs that incentivize developers, much like similar and successful policies instituted in cities throughout the State.

PRESERVING OUR ENVIRONMENT

Sullivan and Orange Counties are known for some of the most beautiful rivers, streams, and lakes, city and rural parks, open land, friendly neighborhoods, and a history of agriculture.

We are so fortunate that District 100 is the gateway to Catskill Park!

We need to protect our environment, especially for our farmers and hunters, who are the backbone and stewards of our land.

Microplastics are in our water, insecticides are destroying our pollinators, and our forests are being overrun. I encourage efficient building, green energy, clean transportation, and making recycling really work while allowing for the sustainable growth and productivity that is imperative to a healthy future for our District and our planet.

FUNDING INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

As a municipal attorney, I know first-hand that state and federal infrastructure funding is critical to providing our district with clean, safe drinking water, upgrades to wastewater treatment facilities, and safe roads.

My priority is to work with local leaders and bring this important funding to our community, lessening the burden on our local taxpayers and driving economic development.

We can all agree that it is time to invest in long-term, sustainable planning for maintenance and improvement projects.

As an Assembly Member, I will make my voice heard to support increased funding in CHIPS (Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program) and all other funding sources to give our local highway departments and DPWs the tools they require to keep our roads, culverts, and bridges safe for all motorists.
